More Evidence that Things (or People) May Never Change

These were sighted on a car in Austin, TX last weekend when we were visiting family. Submitted without further comment for obvious reasons.

oh wow. Those mudflap babes drenched in the confederate flags probably didn't know they'd be paired with those words, poor dears.

i saw an informative bumper sticker on a truck yesterday..."when the jews forgive hitler, vietnam vets will think about forgiving jane fonda"

i was unaware that ms fonda was personally responsible for the genocide of millions so its a good thing that hillbilly had that on his truck to enlighten me ...i also enjoyed how the jews would "forgive" but the vets would only "think about" forgiving...

People are dumb? I dunno...my step-grandmother has a confederate flag in her house and its incredibly fucking embarrassing. It was the first time I'd really been confronted with that stupid thing and I just didn't know what to say (plus, its this rather old woman who I just don't know at all. Sigh. Awkward.). I think Jen asked her why and she said it was a family heirloom and made a joke about "the South will rise again." I can't even think about the situation without thinking about how stupid I was for not saying something.

Anyway, I posted a photo in support/comment on yours.

and i thought the house down the street from us with piles of broken shit in the yard, trash cans with the house number spray painted on them and the confederate flag flying high was white trash....
